Nancy O'Dell's career began in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter with WPDE-TV. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance when it comes to DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. This led to states authorities enforcing more rigorous regulations in these cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell with her Best Report of the year Award for the entire South Carolina media. After her time in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor and investigative reporter at NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. O'Dell, as well as anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of pre-shows and arrivals shows for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She hosted both the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
